Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Interlibrary Borrowing Assistant (IBA) to join our team in Los Angeles. The IBA will be responsible for providing interlibrary loan services to patrons of our library. The IBA will be responsible for locating and obtaining materials from other libraries, as well as providing assistance to patrons in locating and obtaining materials from other libraries.

The IBA will be responsible for:

• Locating and obtaining materials from other libraries, including books, periodicals, and other materials.

• Assisting patrons in locating and obtaining materials from other libraries.

• Maintaining accurate records of interlibrary loan requests and materials obtained.

• Responding to inquiries from patrons regarding interlibrary loan services.

• Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to interlibrary loan services.

• Assisting in the training of library staff in interlibrary loan services.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in library science or related field.

• Knowledge of library cataloging and interlibrary loan procedures.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.

• Knowledge of library databases and other online resources.

• Knowledge of copyright laws and regulations.

• Ability to lift and move boxes of materials.
